Lionsgate micro-budget initiative

This definitely sounds like a move that could give us some well done and good quality projects. Perhaps a much-needed shot in the arm to the genre from fresh blood who have great and creative ideas, but not the financial backing.

Lionsgate announced that is starting “a micro-budget production initiative, which is focused exclusively on producing films with budgets of under $2 million.” They’re going to start with three flicks, including one from Greg Mclean (“Wolf Creek” and “Rogue”). They hope to produce up to 10 films per year.
